The PALM 3G Mobile Hotspot Feature is now free for all customers !!!

Features, Benefits & Definitions
The 3G Mobile Hotspot application is pre-loaded on both the Palm® Pre Plus™ and Palm® Pixi Plus™ with webOS 1.4. The 3G Mobile Hotspot provides access up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices, including notebooks, netbooks, MP3 players, cameras, portable gaming systems, etc. Customers should be advised of the functionality and feature. 

The Verizon Wireless 3G Mobile Hotspot feature, which includes a 5GB (Gigabyte) monthly allowance for NO additional monthly charge, is needed to use the Palm Mobile Hotspot application.
  • Any usage above the 5GB monthly allowance will be billed at a per-MB (Megabyte) rate.
  • This feature is separate from the Smart-phone data feature. When the Smart-phone is connected using Mobile.Hotspot, all data sent or received by the Smartphone (including data sent or received by any Wi-Fi devices connected to it, or by your Smartphone itself) will be billed according to your 3G Mobile Hotspot feature, and not according to your Smartphone data feature.
Effective 04/01/2010, in conjunction with discounted device pricing, VZW will offer 3G Mobile Hotspot for free (a savings of $40 every month). The following applies to the offer:

While Pre and Pixi supplies last only.
  • SFO (Special Feature Offering) will be auto-added to upgrades and new activations.
  • The existing 3G Mobile Hotspot subscribers will automatically receive the SFO at $0.
  • This promotional offer will be available to the customer as long as the Pre or Pixi device remains active on the mobile number.


Mobile Broadband allows you to access a reliable broadband connection from wherever you are in the Verizon Wireless Broadband Services Rate and Coverage area.
  • While using either Palm device, users will be able to use other applications, email, web browsing, and more on the device while connecting up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices at once.
  • Customers  should always turn the Mobile Hotspot feature off when the Hotspot functionality is not needed or not in use. Visual indicators that Mobile Hotspot is turned on:
                                   Mobile Hotspot is present in Card View
                                   Mobile Hotspot is present in Notification Dashboard
  • Customers can track 3G Mobile Hotspot usage by logging into their account or by dialing #DATA. Mobile
Hotspot usage is separated from other device data usage and is included in the Mobile Broadband usage category.
 
Note: The Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus are not Mobile Broadband Connect capable devices.
